Undersea Adventures in North Camp

Visitors will have a whale of a time at this year's North Camp Village Fair, with the theme of the popular day set as 'sea world'.

This year's event, which promises to be a great family fun day, will be held on Saturday July 16 and will also celebrate the improvements to the Queen's Road Recreation Ground.

With the day styled on the theme of 'sea world', groups and families are invited to take part in the walking procession dressed as their favourite underwater characters. The best group entry will win a prize of £50 and the 'North Camp sea world' Trophy.

Organisers are keen for the whole community to be involved and also feel the event offers groups a great chance to reach a very local audience to promote their work.

Event organiser Sharon Lucas said: "This is the summer fair's fourth year and it promises to be a fantastic family day that brings together everyone in the North Camp community.

We'd be delighted to hear from anyone, from the local or neighbouring areas, who would like to take part in the day. This could be group entries for the procession or local organisations that would like to come along and promote their activities - really it's a case of the more, the merrier.

The event is sponsored by Rowan & Webster and The News Group and is set to be a great family day out"

The fun kicks off at midday with a colourful walking procession down Camp Road and along Queens Road into the recreation ground. Groups and families dressed as their favourite sea world character can meet outside Boots at 11.45am to join the procession and to march with the band.

Once in the park, visitors can enjoy the side stalls, join in with karate lessons, have their face painted, enjoy the sunshine and bring a picnic. The afternoon will also include a display by the Rushmoor Gymnastics Academy and music from Eagle radio.

Anyone who would like to take part in the day or would like further information can contact Debbie Whitcombe on 01252 398793.
