A warm welcome in North Camp
Plans
to transform one of the main pedestrian routes in to the centre
of North Camp will be on display at Rushmoor Borough Council’s
roadshow caravan on Wednesday February 22nd from 9am until 7pm.
The roadshow caravan will be parked opposite Boots the Chemist,
alongside Lynchford Road on the site set to be transformed.
Local
people will be able to talk to Rushmoor Borough Council and Hampshire
County staff about the plans throughout the day. As part of the
plans the area of open space will be improved to create a gateway
to the centre of North Camp from Napier Gardens. The project is
being funded by Hampshire County Council’s Regeneration of
Older Urban Areas initiative.

Debbie
Whitcombe, North Camp Regeneration Officer at Rushmoor Borough
Council said: “The improvements will create a welcome environment
for businesses, visitors and shoppers with improved pathways and
landscaping.”
She
added: “ We would like to encourage local people to come
along and see the plans. Three artists have also developed ideas
for the design of a central feature and visitors will be able to
see these and vote for their favourite.”
The
plans for the project will also be on the Rushmoor Borough Council’s
website at www.rushmoor.gov.uk from February 22nd. Here local people
interested in the plans can register their views and vote for their
favourite idea.
