Soccer at 6 in Local Parks
Soccer
mad youngsters, aged 5 - 12 years, will be given the opportunity
to play soccer in local parks from May onwards.
Debbie
Wall, Rushmoor Borough Council's Leisure Development Officer, says: "This
is a great initiative, giving children the opportunity to learn
new skills or develop existing ones. Rushmoor Council has developed
Soccer at 6 with Aldershot Town Football Club and the North East
Hampshire School Sport Partnership, who are both dedicated in helping
children develop in a sport they enjoy."
Soccer
at 6 starts on Tuesday May 2nd and runs until Thursday August 31st
at five different venues in and around Aldershot and Farnborough.
(Excluding weekends and Bank Holidays) The cost is £2.50
per session.
The
sessions are from 6pm - 7.15pm at the following venues:
Mondays
- Aldershot Park
Tuesdays - King George V Playing Fields,
Farnborough
Wednesdays - Cove Green, Farnborough
Thursdays - Manor Park, Aldershot
Fridays - Queen's Road Recreation Ground, North Camp
Kirk
Wheeler, Aldershot Town Football Club says: "There is no need
to book, children can just turn up and play. It is a great opportunity
for kids to try out the sport and then decide whether they would
like to continue playing with the club. The sessions are open to
boys and girls. Children need to wear sports kit and trainers and
should bring a drink."
