Comments and questions received during past consultations in relation
to this area of North Camp:
Queens Rd Q. No crossing points for pedestrians in the upper part of Queens
Road.
A. We are able to provide pedestrian facilities as part of this
scheme.
Q. We need a zebra crossing in the upper part of Queens Road.
A. There are no areas in the upper part of Queens Road which would
be appropriate to install a zebra crossing , without removing a
significant amount of parking.
Q. We need additional parking in the areas around the shops.
A. The scheme proposed allows the removal of some double yellow
lines and provides an additional 6 spaces in the area of the shops.
Q. Vehicles are going too fast along Queens Rd .
A. The measures being proposed narrow the feel of the road at
the junctions and will assist in reducing vehicle speeds.
Alexandra Rd
Q . No crossing points for pedestrians in the area between Queens
Road and Lynchford Road. A. We are able to provide pedestrian facilities as part of this
scheme.
Q. Fully signalise the junction of Queens Road and Alexandra Road
/Netley Street.
A. This was considered as part of the scheme but would cause too
many delays to traffic within the area.
Q. Vehicles are going too fast along Alexandra Road.
A. Alexandra Road is very difficult to treat for speed reduction
measures but the reduction in road width at the improved crossing
at the junction of Queens Road will assist in reducing speeds at
this point.
