Rushmoor wrapped up warm with Insulate Hampshire
A Farnborough couple will be warmer this winter thanks to their new cavity wall and loft insulation from Insulate Hampshire.
Mr and Mrs Barlow took advantage of the scheme being run by Hampshire County Council and 11 other local councils across Hampshire, which offers residents low cost home insulation. The scheme is funded by Scottish Power and for a limited time until March 31st is now free.

The bungalow belonging to the retired couple was built in the 1930s and was often difficult to heat with no loft installation. After hearing about the Insulate Hampshire scheme through a local magazine, Patrick Barlow was keen to find out more.
The scheme allows Hampshire residents to access affordable cavity wall and or loft insulation to help reduce energy bills, and reduce the County’s carbon footprint.
To qualify for free insulation, homeowners or privately renting tenants (with the landlords permission) must be living in Hampshire and register for a free technical survey. Cavity wall and loft insulation are both subject to excess meterage charges and for free loft insulation, there must be less than 60mm of existing insulation,(statistics from the Energy Saving Trust based on an average three bedroom semi-detached property).
Knowing that the scheme was council backed, Patrick felt instantly reassured and was delighted to discover that the insulation would be free.
After having a free technical survey, Patrick went ahead with the insulation and was thrilled with the results.
Patrick added: “The installers were brilliant, they were quick, polite and efficient and they left no mess.”
The family is now enjoying a warmer, more comfortable home and are looking forward to saving money off their next heating bill.
Councillor Peter Moyle, Leader of Rushmoor Borough Council added: “By insulating your home you will save money on fuel bills, reduce your carbon footprint and keep warm. Insulate Hampshire is a safe, trusted scheme and I strongly urge all local residents to take advantage of it. “
