Local Girl In National Final

If you were planning this trip, you may not think that going via Birmingham would be the best route. However, local woman Kirsty Nichol believes that the ICC in Birmingham could be the ideal start point for such a journey
Kirsty (18) is one of the youngest contestant’s in this year’s Miss Universe G.B. and will be taking part, along with 39 other young women in the final in Birmingham in May.

Last year the contest raised over £35,000 for the children’s cancer charity, the Joshua Foundation. This year’s target is £50,000.

The winner of the G.B. contest will not only be representing Great Britain in the final of the Miss Universe competition in the Bahamas, she will also act as an ambassador for the Joshua Foundation visiting Australia, Lapland and a special fact finding visit to Mongolia. A holiday for two in Mexico also forms part of the prize.
To help in her aim to win the G.B. title, Kirsty has been sponsored by internet marketing and research agency Attain Insight. Their Joint Managing Partner, John Mumford said ’ Not only is Attain Insight pleased to be sponsoring a local person for this major contest, we know that as a result Kirsty will be helping to raise money for the Joshua Foundation. We wish her well’

Kirsty has taken a year off from her studies to pursue her aim of becoming Miss Universe G.B.  and to follow her modelling career. However in the autumn, other commitments permitting, Kirsty will be going back to university to read English at Queen Mary in London.

‘I hope that I will still be able to keep some of my modelling assignments while studying – especially to help keep down the cost of my student loan!’ said Kirsty.
