Limestone  -  <<Sedimentary rock composed of mainly calcium carbonate usually in the form of calcite or aragonite>>

Combining the simply beauty of a natural material with extreme durability, limestone is the material used for many of the facings of many of Britains great buildings. Certain limestone’s take a polish and provide an excellent internal floor and wall finish. Limestone is a sedimentary rock and may contain the fossilised remains of shells and other marine matter.

Applications

Limestone has been for centuries the main facing material for many public and ecclesiastical buildings in Britain, and has also been used for carved embellishments to such buildings. It is thus specified for the for the restoration of existing buildings as well as for use on new buildings of the highest quality. It may also be used for floor tiling

Sandstone

Sandstone is durable sedimentary rock traditionally used as a structural material for external walls in the cities of northern England and Scotland. The various grades and colours of sandstone provide the specifier with considerable scope.

Applications

Sandstone may be used both as structural masonry and as cladding.
