Farnborough - 100 years under the flight path
Local
historian Jo Gosney has written a new photographic book reflecting
the lives of the local inhabitants of Farnborough and Cove who
have lived with flying for more than a century.

The
book, called Farnborough, A Pictorial History: One Hundred Years
under the Flight Path, contains many pictures of scenes that have
long since disappeared, while others will evoke more recent memories
of the second half of the 20th century.
With
dramatic changes currently taking place on the old factory site,
and the planned redevelopment of Queensmead, now is a good time
to remind ourselves of Farnborough's past.
Jo has
been writing books since 1995. By also giving talks and guided
walks by arrangement she hopes to encourage more people to take
an interest in local history.
The
new book is due to be published in October when it will be on sale
at local bookshops for £14.99, or from the publishers Phillimore & Co
from their website: www.phillimore.co.uk .
